Percy Fever

Percy was born in 1896. He was the son of Arthur Perrott and Harriet Ogden.

His parents were later divorced. He also went by the name of Percy Fever (adopting his stepfathers surname).

When the 1st World War broke out he was single and had military experience with the Territorials, 13th Regiment. He enlisted on 20 October, 1915, aged 19.
He served as a Trooper with the 9th Reinforcements Canterbury Mounted Rifles, C Squadron. His next of kin was recorded as F.W. Fever (stepfather),
Lincoln Road, Spreydon, Christchurch, New Zealand. Service No. was 7/2123.

His last unit was the Canterbury Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 1st Company.Tragically he was killed in action on 21 September 1916. He was 20 years of age. Percy was entitled to the British War Medal (1914-1920) and the Victory Medal.

He is memorialised on the Halswell War Memorial, Halswell Road, Christchurch, New Zealand[1] and at Caterpillar Valley (New Zealand) Memorial, Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France.
